Morocco

Morocco lies on the northwest corner of the African continent with a coastline extending from the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar to the Mediterranean Sea. It’s population majority is Arab-Berber, the Berber being an indigenous people dating back to the time of the Romans. The Tuareg, or “Blue Men”, are of Berber descent and get their name from their bright blue turbans and flowing robes dyed from the ink of Mediterranean sea urchins. Other ethnic peoples and religions (African, European, Jews, Christians) live as minorities throughout the country and Spanish and French influences are seen. Morocco’s geography encompasses cities famous throughout history (Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh), mountains (Atlas), and to the south, the Sahara Desert and it’s nomads.
